Ron's Story Ronald Lee Dietz, age 71, of Meadville passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 1, 1945 in Meadville. The son of the late Clarence K. Dietz and Wanda A. Swavey Dietz. Ronald was married to the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Colleen Peters for 49 years. She survives. Ronald graduated from Saegertown High School. Following high school, he worked at PPG for 40 years. Ronald was a member of the Twelve Apostles Lutheran Church in Saegertown. He was a devoted member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Meadville Aerie 429, and held various positions were he currently served as Vice President. He was a member of the ICC in Meadville, Vernon Station 27, and VFW Post 2006. Ronald enjoyed playing shuffleboard, hunting and proud of his trophy bucks, camping in Tionesta, gardening, cutting firewood, woodworking, deer processing for his friends, and riding his side-by-side which he called his "hoopie." Ronald had a love for making sauerkraut, and he enjoyed canning and making his own spaghetti sauce. He was known for his garlic that he grew. He was a hard worker, and never missed a day of work in 40 years. Ronald's great-granddaughter Melina brought him great joy. He loved his family very much, and they meant the world to him. Ronald is survived by his wife Colleen Dietz of Meadville, daughter: Stephanie Rowland and her husband Scott of Meadville, son: Scott Dietz of Saegertown, daughter: Tabitha Longo and her husband Chuc of Meadville, proud of his four grandchildren and their accomplishments: Michelle Dietz, Emilee Weston and her husband Mike, Jordanna Longo, Dominick Longo, a great-granddaughter: Melina Weston, a sister: Rebecca (Becky) Smith and her husband Elmer of Meadville, and his cat: Buddy. Ronald is further survived by several nieces and nephews.
