Sandra Lea Brown Cykoski, formerly of Woodcock Township, PA., passed away suddenly on July 30th, 2019 at M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas due to complications of leukemia.
Sandy was born to the late Edward L and Frances Price Brown on August 17th 1946. She graduated from Saegertown High School in 1964. After graduation, Sandy was employed by Turner's Mill in Cambridge Springs as a bookkeeper and subsequently at Bideaux Manufacturing, in Cambridge Springs, PA.
On December 28th, 1968, Sandy married the love of her life, Jerry Cykoski, Cambridge Springs, PA. at St. Anthony's Church. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. In the summer of 1977, Jerry, Sandy and their children moved to Houston, Texas, where they began their family business, PEPSCO. After several years, they decided to move from the city, to their forever home in Concord, Texas. There, Sandy was able to enjoy her love of nature, wildlife and multiple pets.
Sandy is survived by her loving spouse, Jerry, her children, Chad E. (Heather) and Jerod M. (Elizabeth) Cykoski, her grandchildren, Lohr and Emerson, who she loved to the moon and back, her siblings, Larry E. (Laura) and Brenda J. (Cliff) Lohr. Brenda and Sandy were not only sisters but best friends. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her in laws Al and Julia Cykoski, her grandparents, Lewis and Orpha Brown and Ernest and Verna Price, her special Aunt Gretchen and Uncle Paul Sponsler.
A memorial Mass was held at St. Thomas Moore R.C. Church in HillTop Lakes, Texas on 8/24/19 at 10:00AM, officiated by Fr. Joseph, who visited Sandy often. Another memorial Mass will be held at St. Anthony R.C. Church in Cambridge Springs, PA. at 11:00AM 10/18/19.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The SPCA, The Humane Society, and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Our Sandra will be laid to rest at The Upper Cemetery of Cambridge Springs, Pa.
